FAQ's

Find out about how RS Academy operates and if you have a specific question you can't find the answer to please contact us.

Am I insured?
Yes, all members are fully insured for vehicle damage and personal injury. Please see the Terms & Conditions page for specific details on the policy and the insurance excesses payable in case of an accident.
Can I take a Corporate Membership for my company?
Yes. As different companies have a variety of reasons for joining RS Academy we approach each application on a bespoke basis.
What do I get for my money?
Access into the club is by means of a membership fee. This gives you access to the cars, tracks, instructors and all the other facilities provided by RS Academy. There is intrinsic cost associated with running the cars and the exclusive track access RS Academy offers its members, thus a certain amount of commitment is required from club members. The more our members use the club, the better value it offers them and having joined the club, members only pay for what they use, making each member able to tailor their membership to suit their needs.
I don’t want to join on my own, can I join with a friend?
RS Academy offers a shared membership enabling two nominated drivers to enjoy in the experience with a friend and therefore reduce the cost per head. Shared members are expected to share the cars they drive. Members may invite guests but they are limited to one visit per year and are charged at a premium. Ultimately a guest is the responsibility of the club member who invited them.
Will I receive tuition?
Yes. RS Academy aims to develop each driver as they progress their membership. Driver tuition is mandatory for those new to a car or a track they haven't driven before and on the induction day of their membership. Thereafter, subject to approval, RS Academy members may drive the club cars unaccompanied. RS Academy reserves the right to refuse any driver permission to drive any club car on the grounds of safety.
I have a race licence, am I required to take driver instruction?
We always suggest a few familarisation laps with an instructor, especially if you are new to a particular car or track that you haven't driven before.
Do I have to pay for my own fuel?
On Academy days fuel is included in the all inclusive price for the day. Fuel will be charged to members driving on club days or members are free to fill up themselves when required on the day.
Can I bring guests?
Yes, your guests are welcome to use the all the facilities at the tracks and attend member events. However non-members will not be allowed (or insured) to drive RS Academy cars. If your guests do want to drive on track we can arrange for this given prior notice and at the absolute discretion of RS Academy. Non driving guests are charged £50 per day. This covers the cost of all day catering and refreshments.
Can I drive the cars on the road?
Essentially these are track cars, however it may be necessary to make short road trips around the local area. RS Academy run specific supercar tours on great routes around the local regions of each track. Should a RS Academy member wish to take a car on a particular road event or simply enjoy it on the local roads when there is not a track day on, we can arrange this on request.
Do I have to arrange my own travel?
Yes. All members must make their own travel arrangements, however we can recommend the best ways to travel and some great places to stay if required. RS Academy can also arrange private helicopter and jets for groups if required.
Do I have to arrange my own hotel?
Academy days include one nights stay in a local hotel. On all other days club members should arrange their own accommodation. RS Academy can recommend some great places to stay and can often get a favourable rate for club members.
Can I get my race licence through RS Academy?
Yes, we can fast track you to get a race licence within your membership. We can even find you a drive in a race team and support you through the process.
Can I reserve a specific car exclusively for myself for a full day?
RS Academy members enjoy the variety of sharing the RS Academy cars based at the track they are driving and offers - a unique aspect to the club. This system works very well and is the normal way we run the club. RS Academy can arrange for a specific club car to be hired for the day on an exclusive basis subject to pre-arrangement and negotiating the hire.
When can I drive a guest car?
RS Academy members are welcomed and invited to drive the guest cars offered through RS Academy guest car programme. Guest cars are run on Club days only and are not available on Academy days. RS Academy makes the guest car programme available to club members as a benefit to club members at no extra cost to the Club Day price.
